David LaChapelle: "Caravaggio | Revolution" at the Mint Museum in Charlotte, North Carolina

David LaChapelle’s photographs "Alexander McQueen and Isabella Blow: Burning Down the House, 1996” and "Jesus is My Homeboy: The Last Supper, 2003” are included in the Mint Museum’s current exhibition "Caravaggio | Revolution: Baroque Masterpieces from the Roberto Longhi Foundation”, on view until October 25, 2026. The exhibition shines a light on how Caravaggio's radical realism transformed not only painting, but the very language of modern film, photography, and popular culture. In addition to “Boy Bitten by Lizard” by Caravaggio and more than 40 works by Baroque masters on loan from the Roberto Longhi Foundation in Florence, Italy, it includes film clips, photographs, and commentary from modern artists, including Martin Scorsese, Johnny Cash, R.E.M., Isaac Julien, Tom Hunter, and LaChapelle.
