A retrospective exhibition by photographer Priscilla Rattazzi, “Chapters - Capitoli: 1975-2023”, opens at the Italian Cultural Institute of New York with a reception for the artist at 6 pm on Tuesday, September 17.
The exhibition includes portraits of notable personalities including Diana Vreeland and Gianni Agnelli, photographs of the endangered “hoodoo” rock formations in Southern Utah (exhibited at Staley-Wise Gallery in 2020), and a photographic tribute to three ancient linden trees that watched over the artist’s former family home.
“What has always guided me as an artist is the passion for black and white. The selection of photographs in this exhibition first of all brings into focus the affection for very important people in my life, who have since passed away. The void left, over time, has been filled by nature. From the lunar landscapes of Utah to the deep roots of ancient trees, the love for nature has taken on a crucial role in my artistic evolution 1975 and 2023 which I hope illustrates the breadth of my work. I am very grateful for this extraordinary opportunity to exhibit my work at the Italian Cultural Institute in New York.” - Priscilla Rattazzi
